Some Things AREN’T Too Good to be True

You’ve heard the adage “if it seems to good to be true, it probably is.” I know that wisdom has saved me some grief over the years. If it weren’t for this wisdom, I might have fallen for the thousands of emails I’ve received from African widows with millions of dollars to share with me. I’ve learned that most of the time this adage proves to be true.

This past week we helped prove the adage wrong (at least for once). Thanks to a new partnership with RightNow Ministries, we’ve been able to provide a membership to RightNow Media (https://www.rightnowmedia.org) for every pastor and his or her family in the CGGC. It’s been kind of funny this week to take some questions from folks like this: “I got an email from you, but I wasn’t sure whether or not it was really from you or some kind of scam.” I have some good news. The email was really from me and it wasn’t a scam.

If you’re not familiar with RightNow Media, it’s basically like the Christian version of a Netflix Bible study. It’s a streaming service with over 20,000 Bible studies and teaching and resource videos. We felt like it might be a good investment to make in our pastors and their families (I know our Eastern Region has done this same thing for a while and now we’re able to make it available to every pastor in the CGGC).

We received enough questions this week that we figured we better let you all know that this is real and it’s not too good to be true. If you’re a pastor in the CGGC, we’ve made it possible for your family to get access to a lot of great resources at no cost to you. There’s no bait and switch here. You’re not going to get a free trial for a week and then have to provide a credit card number to continue. It’s a free membership. It’s our gift to you! We hope that it will encourage and help equip you and your family.

I know we have lots of folks who follow our E-News who aren’t pastors. While I don’t have a free membership for you, there may be some good news still. For churches who already subscribe to RightNow Media or for churches who want to start a new membership, because of this partnership your congregation will receive a nice discounted rate. It’s not free, but it will save your congregation some money.

If you have questions about this, please reach out to Kris Cupp at KrisC@cggc.org.

Have a wonderful holiday weekend.

Christ’s Peace,
Lance
